Subramanya, Oct 26: Druthi Mundodi, a primary student and resident of Halligaadi, bagged the national award for her innovative idea of using an environment friendly fire place for cooking which also utilizes less fuel.
12-year-old Druthi is a class seven student at Blessed Kuriakose school. She had participated in the state level science model competition at Kumata where she bagged the first place for her innovation.
The exhibit attracted many people, which utilizes less fuel for cooking and costs less.
She also exhibited her innovative model at the "national Inspire award exhibition' held at Delhi from October 21 to October 23 where she won the prestigious award.
The award was presented by Dr T Ramaswamy, secretary of central department of science and technology and by Dr Ashwini.
