Minsk (Belarus), Oct 24 (IANS): Roberto Soldado's hat trick led Valencia to a 3-0 win against BATE Borisov in a European Champions League group match here.
The victory Tuesday kept alive the Spanish club's hopes of reaching the Champions League knockout stage, reports Xinhua.
The Spanish side did not have an easy evening against BATE before the break, but Soldado converted a penalty in the dying seconds of the first half giving his side some respite. The forward made it two after the interval and got his hat trick in the 69th minute following a fine finish.
BATE then took over the initiative and created a number of dangerous situations, but couldn't score.
Valencia and BATE have both collected six points from three games, and share top spot with Bayern Munich.
