Mangalore: Nationwide 'Bharat Parikrama Yatra' Reaches City

Mangalore, Oct 22: 'Bharat Parikrama Yatra', a nationwide yatra undertaken by RSS Pracharak Sitaram Kedilaya of Puttur was given a grand welcome to the city at Pumpwell on Monday October 22.
Hundreds of people assembled in Pumpwell to welcome the yatra.
The yatra undertaken by Kedilaya is aimed at bringing about rural development and fostering harmony.
The yatra will span the length and breadth of the entire country from Kanyakumari to Kashmir on foot, covering over a total of 15,000 km in five years. The yatra was launched in Kanyakumari on August 9 and is currently in its 75th day.
Sitaram Kedilaya was given a floral welcome by RSS top functionaries, Sangh Parivar leaders.
Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, J Krishna Palemar, Sharan Pumpwell, Pradeep Pumpwell, M B Puranik, Bhaskar Chandra Shetty, Shakeela Kava, Sudhir Shetty, Shrikar Prabhu, Monappa Bhandary,Purushottam Shetty, Prakash, Puneeth Pumpwell were present.
The guests who were present took part in the yatra and walked all the way to Bikarnakatte, expressing their support and gratitude.
Addressing reporters, Kedilaya explained the purpose behind the yatra and called for an end to politicizing of issues and commecialization, and urged people to turn towards spirituality.
Kedilaya offered prayers in two temples and also planted a jackfruit sapling as symbol of the yatra.
