Bantwal: Yaksha Siri Award Conferred on Sudhakar Thumbe

Bantwal Oct 21: The Yaksha Siri Award was conferred on Yakshagana artiste and convener of Dubai Yakshamitraru Balaga Sudhakar Thumbe, during the Yakshaloka cultural convention held at Annapurneshwari Nagadeva Temple premises on Friday October 19.
Sudhakar Thumbe, co-founder of Billawa Balaga Dubai, is a well-known personality in the UAE. He is involved in many associations and is also a social worker.
The award was instituted by Yakshaloka Sanskrithi Sangama, B C Road. Police circle inspector Anil S Kulkarni presented the award to Thumbe.
Addressing the gathering, Kulkarni said that art can survive only if artistes are recognized and honoured for their talent.

District Vishwa Hindu Parishad Religion Promoter chief Jithendra S Kottari, Karnataka Yakshagana Bayalatta Academy member Sarapadi Ashok Shetty, Veteran stage director Manju Vittal, Alepadavu Akshara Prathishtana president Dr Ramakrishna S, Bantwal taluk working journalists' association president Mounesh Vishvakarma, Rarasam Prathishtana president Radhakrishna, Yakshaloka convener Prathima Gopal Anchan were present.
Rathnadev Ponjal Katte, advisorof Yakshaloka welcomed, director Gopal Anchan delivered the keynote address, stage director H K Nainadu compered, artiste Sandeep Saliyian thanked the gathering. Cultural programmes including Yakshagana, skit, music and dance entertained the audience.
