New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS): The Supreme Court Tuesday lifted its ban and permitted tourist activities in 20 percent of the core areas of India's 42 tiger reserves.
The apex court bench of Justice A.K. Patnaik and Justice Swatanter Kumar permitted tourist activities in 20 percent of the core areas, taking note of the new guidelines notified by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) Monday.
The court by its July 24 order had imposed a total ban on tourist activities in the core areas of tiger reserves across the country.
