Mangalore: Hundreds Bid Tearful Adieu to Manmohan Mally

Mangalore, Oct 15: Well-known builder Manmohan Mally, owner of Abhiman Constructions, who passed away in a tragic train accident at Kaup, Udupi in the early hours of Monday October 15, was given a tearful farewell the same evening.
The mortal remains were brought to his residence in Kavoor, where a large number of well-wishers had gathered to pay their final respects.
The mortal remains were taken in a procession from his residence to a private cremation ground in the vicinity at around 6 pm.
Krishna J Palemar, K C Naik, Rohan Monteiro, Devanand Shetty of Dixie Shipping, Tejomaya, Congress leader, Srinath Hebbar, builder, Sadananda Shetty of Sri Devi College, A J Shetty, Prashanth Madtha and many other prominent people paid their last respects.

Mangalore, Oct 15: Well-known builder Manmohan Mally, owner of Abhiman Constructions, passed away in a tragic incident at Kaup, Udupi in the early hours of Monday October 15. He was 50.
He was on his way back from Goa by train when, at around 1.30 am, he fell off the train and was killed.
Mally is survived by his wife Sushma, son Aditya and daughter Medha.
Police sources said that two other friends were travelling with him, but they were unaware of the incident till morning. When they realized that he was missing, the informed the police as well as Mally's family.
The body was found on the railway track at Pangala-Innanje. Rs 12,000 in cash and a damaged mobile phone were recovered.
It is said that the police discovered the body on the railway track early morning. On finding his mobile phone, they transferred the SIM card to their phone to get more details. A man by name Vittal called Mally numbers and the police informed him about the accident.
The police asked Vittal to come to the spot and identify the body, which he did.
The body has been brought to Mangalore and shifted to AJ hospital for post-mortem.
Kaup circle inspector Shivananda Walekar, SI Archana and other officials are investigating. Kaup police have registered a case.
A number of builders, politicians and well-wishers condoled the demise of Mally.
