Panaji, Oct 14 (IBNS): A 21-year-old youth has been arrested for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl on Sunday morning.
Manjunath Shinde, who originally hails from Belgaum, is accused of raping the child in his home at Curchorem village in South Goa.
Police said he offered the child, who belongs to a working class family, a packet of potato chips while she was playing outside her house.
“He took her to his house and dressed her back after raping her. On reaching home, the girl narrated the entire episode to the mother who approached the police with the complaint,” said an officer, who is a part of the investigating team.
The youth was arrested under IPC and Goa Children's Act 2003. Both - accused and the victim are being medically examined in the government-run hospital at Bambolim.
