Sullia: Minor Tremors Cause Panic Among Locals

Sullia, Oct 14: Minor tremors were felt across Sullia on Sunday October 14 afternoon, causing momentary panic among residents.
The quake, measuring 3.9 on the Richter Scale, was recorded at around 2.22 pm.
The tremor's epicentre lay at a depth of 5 km, the meteorological department said in its preliminary report.
Tremors were felt in Subramanya, Markanja, Sampaje, Peraje and other places. Panic-stricken locals ran out of their houses fearing earthquake.
The tremors did not have much impact and no major damage has been reported.
Hassan and Kodagu districts too were reportedly shaken, but there too the tremors were minor. The meteorological department has said that there is no cause for worry.
