Ankara, Oct 11 (IANS): A Syrian plane suspected of carrying arms was forced to land in Turkish capital of Ankara Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
According to Dogan news agency, the plane was Damascus-bound.
Turkey scrambled F-16 fighter jets after the Airbus A-320 type plane, which took off from Moscow, entered into Turkey's airspace and forced it to land in Esenboga Airport in Ankara, the report said.
Late Wednesday, Turkey began inspecting the plane, carrying 35 passengers from Moscow.
