Mangalore, Oct 10: The golden jubilee celebration of Sr Maura Mascarenhas and Sr Valentine Mascarenhas was held at St Vincent Convent Hall, Kankanady here on Wednesday October 10.
The celebration began with a Eucharistic mass offered by Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of FMMC and Fr Denis D’Sa delivered the sermon.
Fr Felix Monteiro, Fr Praksh D’Souza, Fr Rudolp D’Sa, Fr Nelson Pinto, Fr Vincent Saldanha were the concelebrants.
The mass was followed by a felicitation programme. Sr Lizey welcomed the gathering, Sr Winefred compered and delivered the vote of thanks.
Sr Maura Mascarenhas
Sr Maura Mascarenhas was born on January 27, 1936 at Angelore Parish.
She is the daughter of Charles Mascarenhas and Christine D’Mello. She joined the convent in the year 1958 and devoted her services to almost 34 different places as a teacher and headmistress.
She also received the Rashtra Prashasthi in the year 1992 in the best teacher category and also received the best guide award in Mysore.
Sr Valentine Menezes
Sr Valentine Menezes was born on August 24, 1938 to Martin Menezes and Angeline, Holy Cross Church, Cordel.
She became a religious on May 18, 1958.
She has rendered her services towards many places. She served for 30 years at the Holy family convent, Kumbla (20 years as headmistress and 6 years as superior); superior at Don Bosco Convent, Belman for 6 years; Shanthi Nivas, Bettadapadau; Asha Kiran, Ganganahalli; Stella Maria convent for 9 years; hostel warden for working girls, St Vincent Convent, MBBS hospital.
