Mangalore: Sonia Gandhi to Inaugurate Kudroli Temple Centenary Celebrations

Mangalore, Oct 6: Congress national president Sonia Gandhi will visit the city to participate in the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district Congress convention to be held on October 18, informed former minister Janardhan Poojary.
Addressing a press meet at the district Congress office here on Saturday October 6, Poojary said that the convention will be held at Nehru Maidan and that Sonia Gandhi would be presiding over the valedictory programme.
Apart from the convention, Sonia Gandhi will also visit Kudroli Temple the same day and inaugurate the centenary celebrations of the Temple, he said. She will also be unveiling a special centenary plaque on the occasion.
The convention, aimed at strengthening the party and prepare for the next elections, will be organized under the baton of Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes. "More than 15,000 Congress leaders, ministers, members and party workers are expected to take part," he added.
Poojary further said that the time of the convention will be announced later, as it has not been decided yet because of security reasons.
Ivan D'Souza, Rohan Monteiro, U T Khader, Abhayachandra Jain, Ramanath Rai, J R Lobo and other Congress members were present.
