Mangalore: Youngsters from City Win Top Honours at Skating Championships

Mangalore, Oct 5: Seeliya Simmith has won bagged two gold medals at the CBSE South Zone Roller Skating Championship held at JSS Public School, Mysore recently for Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala states.
She secured the gold medals in the 5000 m road race and 300 m rink race.
She has been selected to represent the South Zone at the upcoming CBSE National Roller Skating Championship to be held at Amritsar from November 19 to November 21.
Aishwarya Mathew bagged gold and a silver medal while Omkar Yograj won a bronze medal in the boys category.
Also, Ashel D'Silva, a student of the Mangalore Roller Skating Club won bronze medal in the under-8 girls category in the state level Speed Skating Championship recently held in Bangalore.
All these achievers are trained by Mangalore Roller-skating Club coach Mahesh Kumar.
As many as 280 schools with approximately 700 students participated at this event. Seeliya was declared as the fastest skater in the girls category.
