Mangalore, Oct 2: Turbo Kids Academy, an academy for kids was recently inaugurated by noted Kannada writer Dr N D’Souza at Turbosoft Computer Academy, Alake Centre, Alake, here.
Dr N D’Souza, who has written many stories for children, in his inaugural speech mentioned the need for children to develop skills and said that it should be taken up as a hobby. Academic skills lead to getting employment, while hobbies make life more meaningful, he added.
Sulatha Shenoy, President of Lioness Club Mangalore lauded the efforts of the academy in imparting different types of education, specially the handwriting course for children.
Shobha Naresh, the head of the institute addressed the gathering and briefed about the courses conducted by Kids Academy. The various courses provided by the institution are western dance, drawing, abacus, handwriting, music, public speaking and computers.
Certificates were distributed to the successful students of Montessori Teachers Training Course, conducted by Turbosoft under its women’s wing ‘Kushale’. This was followed by an entertainment program by the students of the academy.
