Barca come from Behind to Beat Sevilla

Madrid, Sep 30 (IANS): FC Barcelona fought back from 2-0 down to snatch a dramatic 3-2 win away to Sevilla in the Primera Liga football.

Barca looked to be on track to lose their 100 percent record when Petr Trochowski and Alvaro Negredo put the home side 2-0 up after 48 minutes Sunday. Trochowski, who had to leave the game injured before the break, opened the scoring after 25 minutes and Negredo finished off a fine break two minutes after half time.

Cesc Fabrigas scored his first league goal for nine months when he got Barca back into the game three minutes later and Barca's task became much easier when Gary Medel was sent off for s supposed headbut on Cesc.

Replays showed Medel may have moved towards Cesc, but that the Barca midfielder greatly exaggerated any light contact.

Cesc equalised with a neat finish in the last minute of normal time and Sevilla were further angered as the ball had touched Thiago Alcantara's hand. It was involuntary, but helped set up the goal.

Then David Villa sealed the points with a clinical finish in injury time. The win means Barca go into next Saturday's home match against Real Madrid with a lead of at least eight points, although Sevilla can probably feel aggrieved by the display of referee Mateu Lahoz.

Meanwhile, Malaga continued their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable 4-0 win at home to Betis.

The result was barely in doubt as early as the 13th minute after Betis keeper Casto was sent off for denying Malaga winger Eliseu as he bore down on goal. Joaquin Sanchez rifled home the spot-kick and against 10 men, Javier Saviola doubled the home side's lead before the break with his third goal since joining the club.

An own goal from Ivan Amaya in the second half made it 3-0 to Malaga and with less than 15 minutes remaining Isco added a fourth for the home side.

The Basque derby between Real and Athletic Club de Bilbao in Anoeta was won 2-0 by Sociedad, who dominated from start to finish. Had it not been for an outstanding display from Athletic keeper, Gorka Iraizoz, Real Sociedad would have scored more goals than the second half efforts from Antoine Griezmann and a Carlos Vela penalty.

The day got underway with Valencia taking a much needed win at home to Zaragoza. A first half goal from Sophaine Feghouli put Valencia on their way and although he was harshly sent off in the second half, Jonathan Viera had already doubled Valencia's lead in a game which saw Vicente Guaita return as first choice keeper for Valencia.
