Bangalore, Sep 28: Noted cartoonist Dr Sathish Sringeri passed away on Thursday September 27 at a Bangalore hospital following a brief illness. He was 44.
Dr Sathish was an Ayurvedic physician by profession and was a famous cartoonist from Sringeri.
Sathish had a varied and unique sense of humour. He used caricatures to relate to the readers.
Sathish was the son of Kadoor Sringeshwararaya. His work entertained readers of daily papers and his followers on Facebook.
Sathish cultivated a zeal for cartooning and caricature since childhood.
He did his PUC from Sri Jagadguru Chandrashekara Bharathi Memorial College (JCBM) and medical studies from ALN Rao Memorial Ayurveda College in Gadag.
After completing MD in Ayurveda, he worked in a clinic at Sringeri for a few months. At the time of his death he was working in Univa Pharmaceutical Company as Ayurveda specialist.
He also rendered his service in Muniyalu Ayurveda Medical College in Manipal, and as professor in Alva's College, Moodbidri for three years. He was known to people across the state for his unique cartoons which appear in Kannada dailies.
Dr Mohan Alva, president of Alva’s Education Foundation, Dr Vinaychandra Shetty and others have condoled the demise of Dr Sathish Sringeri.
