Udupi: Chappal Attack! Lady Cop on Receiving End of Woman's Ire

Udupi, Sep 25: A woman was arrested for throwing her footwear at a lady cop in front of the police station at Padubidri here on Monday September 24.

The arrested woman has been identified as Pramoda hailing from Kadibettu. She was later produced in the court.

It is learnt that Pramoda had called police station asking for Santhosh who is a jeep driver. In response, she was told that Santhosh was not available and she should contact him on his phone.

Sources said that within 10 minutes after the call, a flustered Pramoda came to the police station and allegedly flung her footwear at Mamata, the policewoman. She reportely used abusive words and had even shoved her.

She demanded to know where the jeep driver was when the jeep itself was in the station premises.

A case is registered at Padubidri police station.

    If people are really fed up or not happy with BJP or UPA, they should muster guts to throw chappals at the concerned ministers or politicians, as was done to the then Home Minister, Mr.P.Chidambaram a few months back. Doing this to public servants like police constables won't solve the problems.

    I do agree people get frustrated with all these scams and increase in prices, by the way NAGESH NAYAK Bangalore the lady may be upset even because of the infighting in the state Govt. and the mining scandal in the state. Which you have forgotten to mention, next time Nagesh Nayak Bangalore please do see the other side of the coin.

    It is very true Dear William Rodrigues, Milagres, we have PM and UPA government disowned by 70% Indians but still they rule us after absorbing so many giant scams till date.     Often people failed to understand the logic behind throwing shoes at others. This lady asked for Driver of the Police Jeep for whatever may be the reason behind looking for him, but Police Women said he is not available!!!! Since Santhosh is on duty, he should be sitting in his driver seat or standing next to his Jeep instead he was absconding from the scene may be, he is “Kaamchor” or avoiding this lady!!! So then if you don’t deserve shoes than what flower garland???? But only question is whoes shoe meant for whom but fell on who!!!!

    Looking at some people commenting on issues not at all related, only goes to show that how frustrated people are. At the same time I believe the comments about a govt at the state will not help solve the issues. It will only suffocate you more when you will see that nothing is changing on the ground. I only hope it will change for ever no matter who is at the helm.
