Berlin, Sep 24 (IANS): Hoffenheim sealed their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Hannover while Stuttgart came from behind to draw 2-2 with Bremen to close the fourth round of German football's Bundesliga.
It was a nightmare start for Hoffenheim as Matthieu Delpierre opened the scoring for Hannover with an own goal 26 minutes into the match, reports Xinhua.
Seventy seconds later Hoffenheim's Fabian Johnson smoothed the own goal out when he equalised with a well placed curled shot into the far post corner.
Sejad Salihovic and Daniel Williams scored one each to reward their side with the first win of the campaign.
Elsewhere, Leverkusen tied 1-1 with Monchengladbach Sunday.
Leverkusen staged an offensive performance but failed to convert golden scoring opportunities.
Monchengladbach shocked Leverkusen with only three minutes into the match as Patrick Herrmann utilised a deep cross-field pass by Juan Arango to slot home from penalty area for the opener.
Leverkusen needed nine minutes to recover from the deficit as Michal Kadlec hammered home from 14 metres into top far corner in the 12th minute to level the score.
Werder Bremen failed to protect a 2-0 lead as Stuttgart came from behind to make it a two-all draw.
Bremen staged a powerful first half owing to goals by Kevin de Bruyne and Zlatko Junuzovic.
In the second half, Stuttgart gained a foothold to stun the hosts with a header by Martin Harnik, who reduced the lead to 2-1 by the 50th minute.
The visitors were not done with the scoring as Cacau netted Georg Niedermeiers assist from goal area to make it 2-2.
