Hyderabad, Sep 24 (IANS): Ameya Bafna (Team Rayo Racing) capped a fine season by winning the Senior Max category at the JK Tyre FMSCI National Rotax Max Karting Championship.
Bafna finished third in the final race of the season which concluded here Sunday, finishing with 405 points overall. Mithun Ganatra (Team Maini Racing) with 400 and Anshuman Chatterjee (Team Rayo Racing) with 391, were second and third, respectively.
Pradyumn V Danigond (Mohites Racing), who won the last race of the season, and team-mate Krishnaraj Mahadik emerged champions in the Micro Max and Junior Max classes, respectively.
Danigond topped with 219.5 points to finish ahead of teammate Phaneesh HB (202.5) and Mira Kirit Erda (Maini Racing, 198.5 points).
In the Junior Max class, Mahadhik scraped through after winning the last race of the season while championship leader Kush Maini (Maini Racing) suffered mechanical problems when in lead.
While Mahadhik finished the season with 421 points, Maini had to be content with 415 and Dhruv Mohite of Mohite's Racing came in third with 396.
