Mangalore: Deepika Case - Protesters Demand Action Against Doctors

Mangalore, Sep 18: The All College Students' Union on Monday September 17 staged a protest demanding action against doctors whose alleged negligence resulted in the death of Deepika, a second year PU student of St Ann’s College
The protest was organized by the All College Students' Union along with South Canara Photographers association and by residents of Madoor staged in front of Thokkottu junction and later at the DC's office.
It may be recalled that that Deepika (17) passed away on Sunday September 16 at a private hospital in Kotekar, after being treated for a stomach ailment. Her relatives alleged that the doctors' negligence had led to her death.
A memorandum was submitted to ACP T R Jagannath following a rally from Kotekar to Thokkottu.
They also staged a protest in front of JS Hospital in Kotekar, where Deepika died.
They later protested in front of the DC's office and urged strict action against the doctors who treated Deepika.
Dinakar Ullal, judge, Chandrahaas Ullal, president of Bhagavathi Thiya Samaj, Sathish Kumpala, Ganesh Shenoy, Arun Ullal, Uttam Alva, Shifal Raj, Shashi Kumar Kubanoor, Ashwith Kottary, Rahul Raj Prakash, Varun Raj, Nagarjun, Balaraj and many others took part in the protest.
