New Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS): Hockey India (HI) confirmed Mariamma Koshy as its president Monday.
The decision was taken under Rule 4(f) of HI rules and regulations during its executive board meeting held here.
The 63-year-old Koshy was elected the vice-president of HI in Aug 2010 and held the interim president's position from Nov 2010.
A former state-level centre-forward, Koshy is also Hockey Kerala's senior vice-president.
"The sport is poised at an exciting stage in India and it is a privilege to be working with colleagues who are committed to the cause of hockey," said Koshy.
Treasurer of Hockey Karnataka Gayatri Shetty was confirmed as vice-president of HI.
