Kundapur, Sep 15: The members of Popular Front of India (PFI) staged a protest at Shastri Park on Saturday September 15 demanding bail to 'innocents' who have been arrested on various charges.
Addressing the gathering, Hanif Gangolli, president of Kundapur zone said, “Bail is being denied to innocents who have been arrested. Law is equal to every individual in India, there should be no discrimination."
He appealed to the government to release the innocents on bail and not wait for the court’s decision.
“Innocents should not be punished. They should be given bail. Action should be taken only after the Supreme Court's decision,” said G Rajshekar.
G Raj Shekar of district Komu Souharda Vedike, Nawaz Kundapur, secretary of Kundapur zone, Nasik and other members were present during the protest.

Udupi, Sep 15: The Popular Front of India staged a protest and formed a human chain demanding bail to the innocents arrested as suspects in various cases.
The members of Udupi unit of PFI supported the national-level campaign and said that discriminating against Muslims was against secularism. "Stop harassing humanity and let media be a voice for the voiceless," they said.
Lewis Lobo of Komu Souhardha Vedike said that punishment must be given to only the guilty person and not to a community. He appealed to the public to fight for their rights as a united nation.
He said that if a person is wrong there is a court and law to punish him, and the court decides as to who is right and who is wrong. "In India every one has the right to get bail, but the arrested minority members have been refused bail although they are only suspects," he said.
Munavvar Udupi of Popular front of India said that politicians, society and media are all involved in some kind of terrorism, but they possess power and money. "The Muslim community is always dragged into such issues as a result of which they have to suffer for no fault of theirs," he said.
