Edgbaston, Sep 12: Welcome to the final international match in the English summer. It has been a wonderful tour for South Africa and they will look to finish on a high. England, on the other hand, have not lost a T20I series since losing to Sri Lanka in early 2011. They will look to level the series and leap-frog to the top spot in the T20I rankings.
More news from Edgbaston. Another inspection is scheduled at 7:15 PM local. If the match starts at 8:00 PM local, we could have a 13 over a side match.
Live visuals from the ground show that the sun is shining but the covers are firmly on the pitch. The umpires are checking out the outfield. There are some areas of concern as the umpire pokes the field with his umbrella. The ground-staff are draining the excess water off the covers.
South Africa have won the toss and elected to field

Match Preview :
The final match of the summer is here and it has been a series to remember for South Africa. An already successful tour, the visitors would ideally love to round off with a win on Wednesday. This is also the last chance for both teams to tweak their line-ups before setting towards the sub-continent for the T20I World Championships. There is more at stake then just a series leveling draw for the hosts, a win will catapult them at the top of the tree in the ICC T20 rankings ahead of South Africa, minor consolation for having lost the crown in Test cricket.
Rain at Manchester meant that the hosts have no chance of securing a series win over South Africa this summer. The nine over a side contest gave little chance for either the batsmen or the bowlers to stamp their authority over the game. England were perhaps a touch fortunate to leave Manchester with the series still alive. The hosts needed a further 13 runs from 5 balls and with Luke Wright just dismissed, it seemed to be a tall order.
The match at Birmingham will be the last international matches for either teams before the T20I cup, more then anything else, either team will look to go into the tournament in a positive frame of mind. The forecast is for some rains, something that both the teams will he hoping against.
Team News:
Faced with a much win situation, England might play safe and go with an unchanged team.
AB de Villiers has already stated that his team will experiment as they prepare for the gala tournament. The visitors might look to give the lower order players like Duminy and Ontong more batting time.
