Mumbai: Chandrashekar R Belchada Elected President of Thiya Samaj

Chandrashekar R Belchada has been unanimously elected as the president of Thiya Samaj during the 68th annual general meeting held at Billawa Bhavan in Santacruz (East) on Sunday September 9.

Addressing the gathering, Belchada said that unity among people is very important before taking up any activities in the society.  He said that one should be ready to take up any responsibilities that come their way which would help the society. He also asked the young generation to actively participate in the association and thus take Thiya Samaj to new heights.

Rohitdas S Bangera, secretary of Vishwas mandali, Shankar C Salian, Sudhakar Uchil, vice president, Narayan Salian, Chandra M Suvarna, secretary of women’s wing, Vrandha Dinesh, Sridar S Suvarna, editor of Threya Jyothi shared the dais.

After the formal stage programme, nine members were elected for the operational committee for the year 2012-14 where Chandrashekar R Belchada was unanimously elected as the president, Appunji Bangera as the regional committee secretary of west zone, Ujwal Chandrashekar as the secretary of women’s wing of west zone, Sujatha Babu Belchada as internal treasurer.

K P Aravind, past president, Vishwanath UK, former vice president, Ravindra S Manjeshwar, Gopal Salian, Rajesh Suvarna, Eshwar Belchadam Krishna N Uchil, Vijaykumar Ambadi were present.

Vishwanath UK Babu, K Belchada, Govind Manjeshwar, Yadav Rao, KN Uchil, Gopal Salian, Seeta K Salian, Sridar Suvarna also spoke on the occasion.

Thimappa Bangera was honored for registering more members to the association and talent award was also bestowed on him.

Babu Ile welcomed the gathering and Vishwanath U K delivered the vote of thanks.
