Rio de Janeiro, Sep 12 (IANS): Brazil football coach Mano Menezes has recalled striker Luis Fabiano for the team's upcoming friendlies against Argentina.
Fabiano, who has not played an international match since the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, has scored 10 league goals from 12 games for Sao Paulo this season, reports Xinhua.
With only Brazil-based players eligible for selection, Menezes also included new faces Bernard (Atletico-MG), Lucas (Botafogo) and Marcos Rocha (Atletico-MG).
"I have chosen the team based on continuity. We are looking for balance while giving a chance to some players who have been standout performers," Menezes said.
Dubbed the "Super Classico of the Americas", the first match will be played in the Brazilian city of Goiania September 19 with the return leg set for October 3 in Resistencia, Argentina.
