Mangalore, Sep 7: St Ann’s College of Education celebrated the B Ed graduation day at the college auditorium, here on Friday September 7.
Philomena Lobo, joint director and principal of the college of Teacher Education was the chief guest and Sr Clare, principal presided over the programme.
The programme began with a prayer song and a dance depiction on women empowerment.
Prior to the stage programme, annual report of the college was presented through PPT by Sr Maria Roopa AC, vice principal and by Sharmila Mascarenhas. Prizes were also distributed by the chief guest to the rank holders and winners of various activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Philomena congratulated the winners and for being the part of this esteemed institution. Teacher’s duty is not only to teach subjects but they also have the responsibility of building a society.
To be a good teacher, one has to learn several things from the students, she added. Understanding the mentality of the students is very important, only then the teaching will be effective, she added.
She also shared her experience as a teacher to the gathering and asked budding teachers to play an important role in their student’s achievements respectively.
Sr Clare welcomed the gathering, Saritha Pinto compered and Sameeda delivered vote of thanks.
Sr Edna Furtado, secretary of the Apostolic Carmel Education society, Sr Lydia Fernandes, former principal, Sr Maria Roopa, vice-principal, Sr Mobelia, Vijayakumari, coordinator shared the dais.
