Thai Girls Rescued from Goa Sex Racket

Panaji, Sep 3 (IBNS): Goa Police have busted an international sex racket being run in the two spa centres in state’s capital city here.

In the late Saturday night raids, the police teams rescued seven young girls from Thailand and arrested local Elton Furtado, owner of the two spas.

Briefing the media on the raids, Deputy Superintendent of Police Umesh Gaonkar said two police teams were formed to conduct the raids simultaneously at Lanna De Spa and Saloon, and Lilavatti Spa and Saloon.

“The raids were on tip-off. Our decoy customers confirmed there was rampant prostitution activitities in the two centres. Our teams then raided the premises,” he informed.

A  cash of Rs 7 lakh has been seized from these places.

The girls, above 25 years of age, were on tourist visas. “They came to Goa in the last week of August. We are ascertaining whether these girls were lured and forced into flesh trade or they willingly opted for it,” he said.
