Mangalore, Aug 31: The meritorious students of SSLC and PUC were felicitated and Fr Samuel Jathana was honored for his services to the church here at a programme organized by the Protestant Christian Welfare Association (Prochwa) at Sahodaya Hall in the city on August 30.
Congress leader Ivan D’Souza was the chief guest of the programme. Speaking at the inaugural, he encouraged the students to take up competitive exams such as IAS, IPS, adding that everyone should work in the country instead of going abroad.
Advising the students, he asked them to support the unprivileged, backward people of the society.
In the presidential address, Sathish Pengal asked students to make good use of the governmental scholarships.
Denail Koudinya, area chairman of CSI shared the dais. Secretary James Praveen Kumar welcomed the gathering and treasurer Jossy Britto thanked everyone for their support.
