Mangalore, Aug 30: Navodaya self-help group (SHG), set up under the auspices of SCDCC Bank, will distribute two lac uniforms to its members' children, said M N Rajendra Kumar, managing trustee of the Bank.
Addressing a press meet at SCDCC bank head office, Kodialbail here on Thursday August 30, he said that Navodaya Grama Vikasa Charitable Trust on the occasion of the SHG's 8th anniversary will distribute uniforms to SHG members on October 1 at Loyola Hall.
Along with distribution of uniforms, several other programmes will be undertaken by the Trust, like free eye checkup camp, health camp, blood donation camp, and scholarship disbursal at taluk and district levels. "In this way the trust will assist in the welfare of the SHG members," he said.
Kumar said that the trust will also give more importance to sports. "It also has plans of distributing sports gear to encourage sports," he added.
Rohan Monteiro, Sudhir Hegde, Yekkar Monappa Shetty, Ratnakar Shetty, Vinay Kumar Soorinje, Poornima Shetty, Sudarshan Jain, Paramesh Chandra Jain among others were present.
