Mangalore, Aug 30: The preaching of Brahmashree Narayana Guru is truly applicable in a contemporary world said Muzarai Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary. If the current generation follows the preaching of Narayana Guru, society will be harmonious, he said.
He was taking part as a chief guest at the birth anniversary of Brahmashree Narayanguru organized by Brahmashree Narayana Guru Seva Sangha of Jeppinamogaru.
SSLC and Second PUC students of Jeppinamogeru village who scored above 75 percent were honored with cash and a memento.
Saroja K Palemar, retired in-charge head teacher, wrestler Janardhan Poojary, both being the natives of Jeppinamogaru were felicitated. Special awards were given to Anupriya Shetty and Shreelatha Suvarna on the occasion.
Fancy dress competition and folk dance competitions winners were given the prizes by the chief guest. K Chittaranjan, president of Garodi Kshetra presided.
Garodi Billava Sangha president Mohan Padil, corporator Nagendra Kumar, BJP leader Shreekar Prabhu, actor Naveen D Padil, Bajal church priest Fr Cyril Pinto, Presidency Group chairman Haji Hyder Ali, Maroli Sooryanarayana temple managing trustee Guddegutthu Bhujanga Shetty, Dr Major Rajesh, advocate Arun Bangera, Puttur Billava Sangha president Vijaykumar Sorake, were the guests who attended the programme.
Narayana Poojari, president of the Sangha, Meenakshi Janardhan, president of women committee, Devadas Kotian, vice president, Devadas R K, secretary, Chethan Kumar, treasurer were present.
J Dinesh Anchan, founder secretary of the Sangha delivered key note address. Naveen P Ameen organised the felicitation ceremony.
