Goa CM Directs Fresh FIR in Job Racket

Panaji, Aug 30 (IBNS): Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday directed the Anti Corruption Branch of Goa police to register a criminal offence against the suspended Mines and Geology Director Arvind Lolienkar in the job racket case.

“I have asked the anti corruption branch to file an FIR against Lolienkar, and unknown senior and junior officers for their involvement in the jobs irregularities,” Parrikar told press conference after cabinet meeting.

Nearly 200 candidates who were appointed to the post of filed supervisors in the Mines department by the erstwhile Congress government are facing threat of losing their jobs.

Parrikar, also holding Mining portfolio is in the process of scraping the recruitment even as the candidates have staged protests against this decision.

Lolienkar is being investigated in another related case for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore mining scam.
