Mumbai, Aug 28: Two books namely ‘Spatika Shalakeyanthe’ (interviews) and ‘Bramaka Jagattu’ (article anthology) by Srinivas Jokatte, writer, journalist was released at Karnataka Sangha Hall, Matunga (West) on Saturday August 25.
‘Spatika Shalakeyanthe’, is published by Srinivas book publications, Bangalore and ‘Bramaka Jagattu’ is published by Srinivas publication, Mandya.
M G Karkera, former president of Saafalya Seva Sangh released the books and Dr G D Joshi, president of Karnataka Sangh presided.
Speaking on the occasion, M G Karkera said, “It is not possible for everyone to become writers”. He said that many of the writers are not wealthy, but they are rich at heart. Even though in the present world of globalization importance to literature is decreasing, Kannada literature still excels. The evidence for this is the several Jnaanapeeta awards received by the Kannada scholars.
The release of book by Srinivas Jokatte besides his busy schedule is praiseworthy said, Dr Joshi. It is proud moment for all Kanadiga’s as Jokatte has contributed many books to Kannada literature, he added.
The guests Vikranth Urval, director of IITC, Ravindra Suvarna Ghatkopar, young leader, B S Kurkal, P K Salian, H B L Rao, S N Udupa, Mohan Marnad and B G Nayak, vice-president congratulated Jokatte for his new release.
Rajiv Narayan Nayak, story teller and Avinash Kamath, theater actor briefed about Jokatte’s books.
Omdas Kannangar, honourary treasurer welcomed, Dr Bharath Kumar, chief secretary compered and delivered the vote of thanks.
