Panjim: TAG Fondly Remembers Theatre Artistes

Panjim, Aug 27:
In its monthly programme held on  August 21 at TAG’s Conference Hall, Campal, Panjim to remember the works and the contribution of the late artistes to the theatre stage  artistes who are no more a were remembered.

The artistes remembered were Saib Rocha, C Alvares, Minguel Rod, Alfred Rose, Felicio Cardozo, Francisco Antonio Fernandes, Rosary Ferns, Mateus A Pereira, Niclau Xavier Fernandes.
 
Former president of TAG, Tomazinho Cardozo and well-known theatre artiste and member of General Council of TAG Joe Rose spoke on the works of these great artistes.

During the programme solo songs of late Alfred Rose, Minguel Rod and C Alvares were sung by Willy Goes, Jr Rod (Son of Minguel Rod), Shaistah Thapar Pulqueria (daughter of late  artiste Nolasco Dias) and Dr Jerry Rodrigues. Tomazinho and Irene Cardozo, Cezar D’Mello and Elina rendered duets of late Minguel Rod and C Alvares.
 
Prominent among others who attended the programme were theatre artistes Cyriaco Dias, A Friend, John De Parra, Casiano D’Souza, Cosma Fernandes and Tina Costa, Dr Rafael Fernandes, Octavio Rodrigues, Timoteo and Lourenco Fernandes, etc.
 
Amongst the family members of the late artistes present were Casilda (wife) and Aggie (brother-in-law) of Rosary Ferns, Jr Rod , Jude Alvares (nephew of C Alvares).
 
Earlier Prince Jacob, president of TAG welcomed the audience and later Victor de Sa, member secretary of TAG proposed a vote of thanks. Joy Fernandes, cultural organizer of TAG compered the function. The function was covered by Spirit Fernandes.
