Rio de Janeiro, Aug 27 (IANS): A spectacular Ronaldinho strike helped nine-man Atletico Mineiro hold local rivals Cruzeiro to a 2-2 draw in Brazil's Serie A championship.
In a goal reminiscent of his glorious days at Barcelona, the two-time FIFA world player of the year dribbled past three defenders before drilling a low shot that left goalkeeper Fabio with no chance Sunday, reports Xinhua.
Earlier, Atletico's Pierre and Bernard were sent off while Leandro Guerreiro was also expelled for his second bookable offence.
"This goal was something that I've always like to do; getting possession on the left and using my pace and dribbling to get past the defence," Ronaldinho said.
The result extends Atletico's unbeaten league run to 13 matches and maintains the club's one-point lead over Fluminense at the top of the standings.
