Mangalore: 'Yaadon Ki Baarat' Spellbinds Jam-Packed Audience

Mangalore, Aug 27: 'Yaadon Ki Baarat', a melodious musical evening took a journey for every music lovers with evergreen melodies. The event was held at Town Hall here on Sunday, August 26.
Inaugurating the programme by lighting the lamp, senior journalist Manohar Prasad said that if the lyrics of the yesteryear songs are heard, lifestyle may be changed for a better living. He added that old songs kept the Indian spirit alive.
Melvyn Rodrigues, Director - Operations, daijiworld.com who was the chief guest said that if every word in the lyrics is soulful, then only a song creates a vibrancy in the heart.
The evening was a memorable treat to bollywood music enthusiasts. Songs like 'Churake gaya sapna mere', 'wada karo nahin chodoge tum mere saath', 'zindagi ke safar', 'kabi tho hasay', 'agar tum na hothey', spellbound the jam packed audience.
'Nafrath ki duniya chodke pyar ki duniya mein' was attributed to pay homage to the departed soul of Rajesh Khanna.
After the success of 'Rafi-Kishore Nite' in 2010, and 'Lata Ki Suneheri Yaadein' in 2011, the same artistes - a melodious combination of Anitha, Srikanth Kamath, Mohammed Hanief and Ranjan Das presented 'Yaadon Ki Baarat'.
The musical evening was dedicated to singing legends like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Geeta Dutt, Mohd Rafi, Mukesh, Kishore Kumar, Hemanth Kumar, Manna Dey and others.
Popular musicians from Mangalore and Calicut, led by the famous Pappan, provided the music. Hussain Katipalla, district Rajyotsava Award winner, Sushanth Bhandary were the guests of honour.
The event was compered by Prem Kumar.
