Kundapur, Aug 21: The department of food and civil supply minister D N Jivraj visited the Anegudde Sri Vinayaka Temple, Kumbasi, here on Tuesday August 21 morning.
The minister was welcomed by the managing trustee K Suryanarayana Upadyaya. He attended the puja along with his wife Nivedhita and son Sandanaab.
After the puja, he was felicitated with a shawl, garland and a memento. He also enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast prepared by management of the Temple.
Speaking to the media he said that for the betterment of the people the ration card registration will be done at the gram panchayat itself and it will be distributed in the taluk offices.
As this is a long procedure with duration of three to four days. Public has to sacrifice their work and time. We are taking into consideration and trying to fit in the four days work into a day. This will save time of the government and the people. This setup will come into effect within 10 or 15 days.
Prior to attending the puja he met former MLA Haaladi Shrinivas Shetty. On being asked by the media regarding the reason for his meeting with the former MLA, he said that there was no political reason. He went to meet him as a friend and to console him and his family as his brother passed away a couple of days ago.
