Breivik's Copycat Held in Czech Republic

Moscow, Aug 19 (IANS/RIA Novosti): Czech police have detained a man alleged to have been planning terrorist attacks similar to the massacre carried out by Anders Behring Breivik in Norway in 2011, media reports said.

The unnamed 29-year-old drew police attention as he was using "Breivik" as an online nickname, Czech News Agency said Saturday. The similarity looked deeper when investigators searched the man's home.

Police seized firearms, explosives and elements of police uniforms.

Breivik, a rightwing radical who is on trial in Norway, killed 77 by planting a bomb in Oslo while going on a shooting rampage on the isle of Utoya dressed as a police officer.

The Czech Breivik admirer was once convicted of bomb blasting in the past, and had a remotely controlled explosive device installed in his home at the time of arrest, the report said.
