German Court Bans Rolling Stones Tattoo for Horse

Berlin, Aug 16 (IANS): A German court has stopped a man from making a Rolling Stones tattoo on a horse saying it is wrong to inflict pain on animals "without just cause".

Adorning animals with tattoos is banned in Germany, the Munster Higher Administrative Court said after the man wanted to make a tattoo of the rock group's tongue logo.

The law prohibits infliction of pain on animals without just cause, the court in North Rhine-Westphalian town said.

Protecting animals from pain comes before fashion or marketing interests. An appeal is not possible, German news agency DAPD Wednesday quoted the judge as saying.
