Mangalore: Four Child Labourers Rescued from Home Industry

Mangalore, Aug 13: Four labourers allegedly below the age of 14 years were rescued by a team led by assistant labour officer D G Nagesh here on Monday August 13 at around 11.30 am.
Vignesh, Ajith, Karnan and B Vignesh said to be hailing from Madurai in Tamil Nadu, are the four children. It was later found that of the four, two were aged below 12 years and two others above 16 years.
The four were employed in a home industry located near Vrindadi Gudde, Dhanush Maidan in Panjimogeru.
Acting on a tip-off D G Nagesh along with his team raided the home industry belonging to Paalu Swamy, who was also present at the time of the raid.
Kavoor police were also part of the raid operation.
The rescued children were sent to Wenlock hospital for medical tests. It is also said that the children quit their education after studying till seventh standard in a government school in Madurai.
