Dhaka, Aug 11 (IANS): Ten people were killed and a dozen wounded when lightning struck Friday night at a mosque in northeastern Bangladesh, an official said.
Shahidul Huq, chief executive officer Dharmapasha sub-district, some 300 km from capital Dhaka, told Xinhua by telephone that the lightning hit the mosque in a village, killing ten people on the spot and injuring another 12 who were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The toll is likely to rise, he said.
