Aligarh, Aug 8 (IANS): Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has suspended 21 students for allegedly using fraudulent means to secure admission into engineering courses. A probe has been ordered.
The students are studying B.Tech at Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology.
The university's Proctor Khursheed A. Khan, through an office memo issued Tuesday, said a committee constituted by the vice chancellor to oversee admissions to B. Tech course for 2011-2012 revealed that the 21 students committed forgery, cheating, misrepresented and concealed facts and produced forged documents and committed different acts of indiscipline and misconduct specified under AMU Students' Conduct and Discipline Rules, 1985.
Khan said the students had been placed under suspension till completion of probe.
