Mangalore: Oscar Fernandes Visits Morning Mist Home Stay, Condemns Attack

Mangalore, Aug 4: A week after the dastardly attack on young students at the Morning Mist Resort at Padil, Rajya Sabha MP and Congress leader Oscar Fernandes visited the spot on Saturday August 4.
Addressing the media, he condemned the attack and said that the issue will be discussed seriously in the next assembly session.
Oscar said that concern over the issue has already been raised by the high court. "The state Women's Commission chief with her team has also visited the city and the reports provided by the team will be discussed soon," he said.
He said that he was deeply saddened by the acts of such people (attackers) and by incidents that bring shame to Mangalore, a city that is otherwise famous for its rich culture and for being an educational hub. "Human rights commission will be requested to dwell on the issue," he added.
Oscar's wife Blossom Fernandes, J R Lobo, Rohan Monteiro, Ivan D’Souza, P V Mohan, corporator Naveen D’Souza, Praveen Chandra Alva, Mithun Rai, Moideen Bava among others were present.
