Drugs Probe Against Goa Ex-minister’s Son

Panaji, Aug 3 (IBNS): Goa’s former home minister Ravi Naik’s son Roy will be probed for his alleged involvement in the drug scandal as Manohar Parrikar government has ordered instituting a House Committee in this regard.

The committee will be headed by Goa Vikas Party Chief and Nuvem legislator Mickky Pacheco.

Speaking on the floor of the House on Friday, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said the committee will have to submit its report within one month’s time.

“There are several allegations that Roy was involved in drugs and that he misused his father’s post as a minister to extort money,” Parrikar said.

The report will be further submitted to the police department for filing a charge-sheet. The chief minister said an unbiased officer will be appointed to investigate the case further.
