Lucknow, Aug 1 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh's Samajwadi Party government would be happy to undertake any course correction if party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav suggests it, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said Wednesday.
Akhilesh Yadav's comment came amid reports that his father and party chief was unhappy with the functioning of the government.
"Netaji hamare neta hain, agar unko kuchh achcha nahin lag raha hai, to hum usme sudhaar avashya karenge (He is our leader, if he wants certain changes to be made in our functioning, we will certainly do it)," Akhilesh Yadav said on the sidelines of an event here.
He added that people of the state had many expectations from his government. With the combined effort political leaders, ministers and officials, they would take the state on the road to all-round development.
Accompanied by ministers Shivpal Singh Yadav, Azam Khan and Ambika Chaudhary, the chief minister said that after making available 26 services on internet, the government would focus on rapid infrastructure upgrade.
The chief minister said that very soon many roads would be laid across the state and efforts made to resume stalled work on bridges.
State Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Azam Khan said the state government and its officials should understand their responsibilities towards the people of the state as they had come to power after suffering for five years under a dictatorial regime.
Calling for a better coordination between the political masters and the bureaucracy, Azam Khan said it was time to work constantly and relentlessly for the betterment of the state.
