Mangalore: Tiger at Pilikula Attacks, Kills Employee

Mangalore, Aug 1: In a rare and tragic incident, a tiger at Pilikula Nisargadhama killed an employee late night on Tuesday July 31.
The deceased has been identified as Kushalappa Gowda. He used to feed the animals, including the tiger at Pilikula.
It is said that the tiger, identified as Raja, was unwell and on July 31 afternoon, the veterinary doctors had examined and given it medicines.
At around 11 pm, Kushalappa is said to have gone to the tiger's cage to check on it, but never returned.
After some time, the watchman went to check what was keeping Kushalappa back, and was shocked to see the tiger outside the cage. He immediately raised an alarm.
Kushalappa was found dead with tiger bite marks on his neck.
