Mangalore: 'Rampa' Tulu Comedy Movie's Name to be Changed?

Mangalore, Jul 26: On Monday July 23, actress and producer Namratha Hegde announced the news of her new movie 'Rampa' that is going to hit the screen next month, much to the delight of Tulu movie fans.
She had clarified that the movie's name had nothing to do with any personality, living or dead.
Daijiworld has learnt that the family of Rampa, who was a well-known personality from Mangalore has objected to the name, and alleged that his name was being misused to mock him.
Soon after the news was published on daijiworld, several readers said that the name ressembles the actual personality and should hence be changed.
A family member of Rampa, who spoke to daijiworld on condition of anonymity said that several people from abroad called the family after reading the movie name on daijiworld, and said that it would be a gross 'misuse' of the great legend's name.
Now, sources close to daijiworld have disclosed that the producer of the movie is considering a change in the movie's name, as the intention of the movie is not to hurt anyone but to provide clean comedy to all Tulu movie lovers.
The role of Rampa too was shown in a positive manner, and there was no question of hurting anyone, daijiworld has learnt.
An official announcement could be expected from the producer in the coming days.
