Voting for Presidential Election Eegins in Goa


Panaji, Jul 19 (IBNS): Goa legislators have begun voting for the Presidential election. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who voted in favour of NDA-supported P A Sangma said the national leader will get 30 votes from Goa.

“NDA Presidential candidate Sangma will get 21 votes from the BJP, three from our ally MGP, two from Goa Vikas Party and four independents,” he told reporters after casting his vote.

Very few Congress leaders have arrived to vote. The polling began at 10 am and will continue till 5pm in the Goa Legislative Assembly building. With the monsoon session underway since last one week, tight police security is already in place.
