Puttur: DVS Gets Grand Welcome, says he's Ready for Any Post in BJP

Puttur, Jul 16: Former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda was accorded a grand welcome here on Monday July 16, on his first visit to his native town after being removed from the CM post.
Gowda was received at Gundya and taken in a procession through Uppinangady and Nelyadi to Puttur town.
At Puttur, a thanksgiving and felicitation programme was organized by his well-wishers and partyworkers. A large number of people from in and around Puttur gathered to witness the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Gowda thanked his supporters and the people in general for their good wishes.
On being removed from the CM's position and the controversy surrounding the incident, he brushed aside the matter and said that he was ready to accept any post in the BJP.
"I will abide by the BJP high command's decision. Whatever post I am given, I will do my best to live up to the people's expectations and trust, and work for their welfare." he said.
He then visited Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple and sought divine blessings.
He was accompanied by his wife, family members, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, legislative assembly deptuy speaker Yogish Bhat, Padmanabha Kottari and a large number of BJP party workers.
On Wednesday July 18, Gowda will visit Mangalore.
