Bhatkal: Two Teenagers Feared Drowned in Murudeshwar Beach

Bhatkal, Jul 16: Two youths from Haveri were feared drowned in Murudeshwar beach on Sunday July 15.
Dada Peer (17) and Mohammed Hussain (15) both from Byadagi town, Haveri district had come in a group of 14 to Murudeshwar at 4 pm, after visiting Jog Falls in Shimoga. A few of them went to a temple nearby, while others stayed behind to play in the water.
Mohammed was studying in class 10. It is learnt that 10 out of the 14 students had not informed their parents. All of them are said to be minors.
Locals said that driver Anwar Basha brought all students to the beach.
The bodies of the victims have not yet been recovered. Search operations are on.
The police took the students into questioning and later released them.
Earlier the same day, a student from JP Nagar in Bangalore was saved from drowning by the local fishermen at the same beach.
