Mangalore, Jul 15: After the recent incident at Kankanady railway junction wherein passengers of three trains had to wait for one-and-a-half hours due to a fault in signal, it was the turn of commuters to wait for hours to cross the railway gate due to a similar problem.
The incident took place at the Alape - Padil railway gate at around 9.45 am on Sunday July 15, after the Matsyagandha train passed.
Even after the train passed, the signal was not shown to the guard by the railway station to open the railway gate.
Initially, the guard thought that another train may be approaching on the same route, however, after checking, it was understood that there was some problem with the signal.
The guard refused to open the gate as there was no signal from the station. After an hour of waiting, the gate finally opened after the technical glitch was resolved.
