Mangalore: George Pinto Elected President of District Govt Employees' Association

Mangalore, Jul 13: George Pinto, deputy commissioner of excise, Udupi district has been unanimously elected to the post of president of Dakshina Kannada district unit of Karnataka State Government Employees' Association (KSGEA).
He replaces H Sanjeeva who superannuated from service on June 30.
George was unanimously elected during the executive committee meeting of the association
held recently.
George Pinto is the first Catholic to be elected to the post ever since its existence.
The Association has employees from drivers' association, revenue, tax department, PWD, Wenlock hospital and various other government organizations as its members, with the sole intention to protect the interest of the government employees.
Born in Meramajal in Bantwal taluk George later settled in Kulshekar, Mangalore and had his entire education in St Aloysius College. A post graduate in political science from Mysore University, worked in the journalism field for a year before joining the government service.
